Recent Key Events
Description
The index tracks South Korean companies most closely associated with solid-state battery (SSB) manufacturing and battery energy storage systems (ESS). The eligible universe consists of KOSPI- and KOSDAQ-listed common shares with a minimum market capitalization of KRW 200 billion and a 3-month average daily trading value of at least KRW 1 billion, restricted to AICS primary industry codes 221, 325, 333, 334, and 335. Constituents are selected using Akros's proprietary NEXUS thematic analysis engine, which ranks companies independently under each keyword and applies an equal inclusion rate algorithm to form a union portfolio of 10 to 15 companies. The top 2 companies by combined thematic score receive a fixed weight of 25% each; remaining companies are weighted by a blend of 50% normalized combined score and 50% free-float market capitalization, subject to an 18% maximum weight cap and a 0.5% minimum weight floor. The index rebalances quarterly, with ad-hoc rebalancing triggered when any constituent's weight exceeds 30% for three consecutive trading days.
