Description
The Akros MLCC and Electronic Components Index offers USD-denominated exposure to the largest pure-play manufacturers of passive electronic components listed in Japan, Korea, and Taiwan. Constituents are drawn from companies classified under the Akros Industry Classification System (AICS) in computer and electronic product manufacturing or electrical equipment, appliance, and component manufacturing, or carrying a capacitor, resistor, coil, transformer, and other inductor manufacturing secondary classification, that have a market capitalization of at least USD 250 million and a 3-month average daily trading value of at least USD 1 million. Each company is assessed for thematic fit with passive components — multilayer ceramic and other capacitors, chip resistors, inductors, signal transformers, and circuit-protection devices — and the index holds only qualifying companies, the largest 15 by free-float-adjusted market capitalization. The two largest qualifying multilayer ceramic capacitor manufacturers are each held at 20%, and the remaining constituents are weighted by free-float-adjusted market capitalization subject to a 15% cap. The index is rebalanced quarterly.
